LED Light Introduction
A light-emitting
diode (LED) is a two-lead semiconductor light source that emits
light when activated. At present, LED is applied in many industries, including street
light, auto light, electric light, display device, etc.
Colors
of LED:
Colors of LED includes infrared
radiation, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, ultraviolet. The spectrum
of natural white light (sunlight) includes every color, so LED can only
simulate the color of sunlight. It means the white light LED emits cannot be as
same as the natural light.
The principle LED emits
white light is through emitting RGB three colors light or transforming spectral
color with white fluorescent agent. It stimulates human photoreceptor cells and
makes us feel that we see the white light.
Application of
LED on automobiles:
LED is applied in
the automotive lighting system, including headlight, fog light, stop light and
turn signals, dashboard icons, etc.
When LED luminance
develops and meets the standard now, producer starts applying LED on turn signals
and brake lights. LED can be turned on or turned off in a very short time. The
time to turn on LED is 0.5 second faster than incandescent lamps (Halogen lamp
is one of incandescent lamps).
LED light is
brighter than incandescent lamps during the day. LED light also has other
advantages, such as long lifespan, high-speed turning on. It also increases 6
meters brake reacting distance to decrease incidences of accident. It is
important for safe driving.
Under vehicle
shaking and temperature difference during driving, LED still has stable and
reliable luminance. There have been few cars used white LED as headlight now.
The light direction control is better than incandescent lamps plus parabolic
reflector.
Flashlights for
some emergency vehicles are also LED because of its high-speed flash feature
and high reliability.
